How to Assess Professional Qualifications at Levels 3, 4, and 5 in Spain, Italy, and France? Key Differences and Commonalities. How Can We Improve the Recognition of These Diplomas in Our Statements of Comparability?

Session Information

The system of vocational education and training (VET) is distinct in each country, shaped by their unique educational traditions. •Which diplomas can be assessed, and which ones cannot be? What criteria do we apply? •We will first explore the similarities between these countries, then delve into the differences and how we attempt to capture the uniqueness of each diploma in our statements of comparability. •We will highlight the challenges often faced when processing these types of diplomas, such as missing information about entry requirements, career prospects, the absence of diploma supplements, and inconsistent diploma titles. We'll also discuss how certain elements and indicators can help us assess these diplomas more accurately and avoid common pitfalls. •Holders of vocational diplomas often seek information about the requirements for practicing their profession in France. As an ENIC-NARIC center, we strive to provide the best possible guidance and collaborate with the Chambers of Trades and Crafts to improve professional recognition (specific statement model).

1) Gain updated information on vocational education in Spain, Italy, and France. 2) Learn how to identify key information on these diplomas and determine their level, despite missing details. 3) Reflect on new approaches for better showcasing the professional dimension of diplomas in statements of comparability. 4) Share their views on evaluating these specific diplomas with fellow participants.
