Pre-Conference Workshop: Cracking the Code: Mastering Arabic on Educational Credentials

Ever wonder how we manage all those documents issued in Arabic? This fun workshop is perfect for a non-Arabic speaking credential evaluator who wants to feel more comfortable with this language on educational documents. We will learn the basics, such as the alphabet and language structures, through a series of practical exercises based on a variety of sample documents. We will practice reading names and numbers, recognizing key terminology, and deciphering seals. We will also review selected fraudulent cases and peruse outline tools for researching Arabic-language websites. By the time we finish, "jamiya" and "wizara" will no longer be mystery words, and you can read Arabic documents with surprising ease.
