Bridging the Gap: Strengthening Collaboration Between U.S. Higher Education Institutions and International Credential Evaluation Services

This session aims to bridge the gap between U.S. higher education institutions and international credential evaluation services by fostering a shared understanding of institutional admissions policies, priorities, and challenges. It will highlight best practices in international credentials evaluation to promote effective collaboration. During the session, the speakers will present and analyze findings from a new in-depth survey of U.S. institutions of varying sizes. Presenters will illustrate how international credential evaluation agencies establish their standards and policies and examine how institutions apply these evaluations to meet accreditation and academic requirements for incoming international students. The panelists from U.S. institutions will provide real-world insights into institutional policies and decision-making processes. Participants will engage in discussions, share challenges, and gain practical tools and strategies to develop a tailored approach that best supports their institution's international credential evaluation needs.

1) Understand U.S. higher education institutions' policies, priorities, and challenges regarding international credential evaluations through survey insights. 2) Examine how international credential evaluation services establish their standards and policies and how these align with institutional academic procedures and needs. 3) Explore U.S. institutions’ perspectives to gain insight into best practices and unique challenges. 4) Develop a customized plan for leveraging knowledge and resources to enhance international credential evaluation processes within their institution or organization.
